Assessment of Business Model for Tesla Motor Corporation

  • Assessment of Business Model for Tesla Motor Corporation

  • Oct 2018 - Dec 2018

During this project work, I have collaborated with students from “International Business” backgrounds to conduct an assessment on “Tesla Motor Corporation”. Our primary objective was to comprehend the Business model of the firm quantitatively. That is to identify the firm’s value proposition, to whom it’s addressed to & finally to understand the firm’s extraction of profits by utilising that value proposition. Upon understanding the primary aspects of the firm, the analysis has been extended to comprehension of the “Actual extent of Internationalisation”, that is to identify the reasons for the transaction between the firm & customers (i.e. either B2B or B2C), then understand where these customers are, then how the firm serves these customers i.e. to understand the exports/licensing-franchising/foreign production. For each entered market, how & why were reported. Finally, “History of Internationalisation” were comprehended, by defining how the firm entered the specific market or region, why this choice of mode, and have made modifications to the initial entry over the years. In this way, we have defined the firm’s entry as either Country or Customer based. In conclusion, we have studied the firm’s internationalisation pattern & history.
